Nursing Parent Responsibilities
- Breastfeeding Equipment: Nursing parents will need to provide their own pump.
- Milk Storage: We recommend you bring a small cooler to store your breast milk. Expressed milk can also be stored in the small refrigerator short-term until the end of the day. Please label all milk expressed with your name and date collected. San Juan College is not responsible for the security or integrity of breast milk stored in or outside of the Lactation and Family Room refrigerator.
- Maintenance of Lactation and Family Rooms : Breastfeeding parents are expected to help keep the Lactation and Family Rooms clean after each use.
SJC Responsibilities
In recognition of the well-documented health advantages of breastfeeding for infants and mothers, and in compliance with provisions of the Affordable Care Act, SJC provides a supportive environment to enable breastfeeding parents to express their milk.
